Features: Tumors worldwide share commonalities while also exhibiting specific characteristics, leading to differences in their pathological types. To gradually achieve uniform naming and classification of various tumors in China and align with international standards, the Chinese Medical Association's Oncology Branch took the lead in organizing renowned pathologists with expertise across the country, along with other relevant personnel, to compile The Classification of Tumor Pathology in China. The entire series consists of 25 volumes, nearly 4,000 photographs, covering both macroscopic and microscopic classifications of tumors, closely integrated with clinical applications, including corresponding X-ray images. It includes both common and rare or challenging cases. In addition to routine pathological examinations, it also incorporates electron microscopy, immunohistochemistry, autoradiography, image analysis techniques (including DNA analysis), flow cytometry, in situ hybridization, and PCR, among other molecular pathology technologies. The series is richly illustrated, proposing China's classification scheme while also introducing major international classification systems. It is a systematic and comprehensive monograph on tumor pathology in China. This classification can be considered the beginning of a national tumor pathology classification system. With widespread application, practice, and revision over the years, it is expected to gradually evolve into an accurate and refined classification of tumor pathology in China. This classification will facilitate tumor diagnosis, treatment, and post-treatment outcome assessment, as well as tumor research. It also serves as an essential reference for pathological diagnosis.
