Features: To regulate the work of applying for master's degrees based on equivalent academic standing and ensure the quality of degree conferment, the 16th meeting of the State Council Academic Degrees Commission decided to introduce the National Unified Examination for Comprehensive Academic Level in Disciplines for applicants with equivalent academic standing. Starting from September 1, 1999, applicants for master's degrees based on equivalent academic standing must obtain the "Certificate of Qualification for the National Unified Examination for Comprehensive Academic Level in Disciplines" in the relevant discipline, which is a prerequisite for obtaining the master's degree. The purpose of the Comprehensive Academic Level Examination is to strengthen the macro-control and standardized management of the conferment of master's degrees to applicants with equivalent academic standing, and it is an important part of the national assessment of the professional knowledge structure and level of applicants for master's degrees. For this reason, experts were commissioned to compile and publish the "Outline and Guide for the National Unified Examination for Comprehensive Academic Level in Chinese Language and Literature for Applicants with Equivalent Academic Standing," and relevant experts were organized to review it. This outline and guide serve as the basis and scope for the national unified examination for comprehensive academic level in Chinese Language and Literature, and are important reference materials for teaching and assisting examinees in reviewing and preparing for the examination. During use, relevant units may promptly provide feedback on issues and suggestions so that revisions can be made in a timely manner.
