Features: If there is a certain proportion of entrepreneurs in the population with entrepreneurial traits, then why is there a huge difference in the quantity and scale of entrepreneurial innovation activities across countries? This is due to differences in economic systems and institutions. This book analyzes how entrepreneurs, as the main subjects of innovation, are motivated and constrained under different institutional arrangements. These arrangements arise from the relationship between entrepreneurs and capital owners, between entrepreneurs and other human capital owners within a company, the division and cooperation of entrepreneurial functions among enterprises, and the trust relationships that promote division and cooperation. The emergence and maintenance of these division and cooperation relationships depend on capital contracts derived from entrepreneurial ownership, governance structures, organizational structures, entrepreneur networks, and corresponding trust relationships. Under different institutional structures and behavioral contexts, this book identifies different types of entrepreneurial behavior patterns. Based on this theoretical foundation, the book explains the entrepreneurial behavior patterns during China's economic system transition.
