My father has lung cancer and coughed up blood. How long can he live?

Patient's question:

My father has advanced lung cancer, adenocarcinoma. He had a severe episode of vomiting blood at the hospital. First, he coughed, then spat out two clots of blood, followed by chunks of blood mixed with foam. During the vomiting process, my mother helped pull the blood out of his mouth. It was approximately 500cc. The doctor said he wouldn't live more than a day. However, my father is in good spirits, has a good appetite, and is experiencing low-grade fever. He is taking Xin Guang tablets, receiving intravenous glucose, and being infused with nutrient fluids. It has been four days now.

Doctor's answer:

Lung cancer occurs in the bronchial mucosal epithelium and is also known as bronchial lung cancer. Lung cancer generally refers to cancer in the lung parenchyma.
Stage IV: Includes: Cancer cells have spread to multiple sites in the opposite lung, or there is fluid accumulation around the lungs or heart, or the cancer has spread to other parts of the body through the bloodstream. Once cancer cells enter the bloodstream, they can spread to any part of the body, but the most common sites of metastasis are the brain, bones, liver, and adrenal glands. Currently, symptomatic treatment is being used to alleviate pain.
