I loved drawing as a child and was praised by others. Taking advantage of this, I declared that I wanted to become a mangaka. I also aspired to become a painter. Because back then, I believed that in this world, the best painters were the great mangaka. In middle school, I entered a sketch competition and painted a picture that I was very satisfied with, one that looked almost like a photograph. I thought I would win a special excellence award, but I only received an excellence award. The picture that won the special excellence award was one that embodied the spirit of a middle school student. At 17, I created a self-portrait titled "My Painting." Of course, I was very satisfied with it. People called it a "strange painting." Whether the painting was good or bad was debatable, so I began to wonder, "What kind of things should I draw to become a mangaka?" At 19, I received my first letter of appreciation from a fan. A stranger praised my painting. I was very happy then and realized the fundamental principle that I should draw things that people would like and enjoy. Mangaka draw for their fans, but occasionally, I also draw things that only satisfy myself. Please forgive me! Please forgive me! In the end, I am very grateful to everyone for buying this book!
