Features: This book focuses on one of the most pressing issues in society today—social justice. China has entered the stage of comprehensively building a moderately prosperous society. At this stage, should economic growth be stimulated by widening the income gap, or should a reasonable interest structure be formed to gradually achieve coordinated development between the economy and society? To comprehensively build a moderately prosperous society, not only does sustained economic growth is needed, but also maintaining social stability and ecological balance, as well as expanding opening-up while properly handling the relationship between domestic development and opening-up. "Justice as Fair Development" is the core concept proposed in this book. After China enters the stage of comprehensively building a moderately prosperous society, the question arises: should economic growth be stimulated by widening the income gap, or should a reasonable interest structure be formed to achieve coordinated development between the economy and society? Should industrialization and urbanization be driven by the policy of prioritizing cities and supporting industry with agriculture, or should a reasonable urban-rural relationship and industrial-agricultural relationship be formed to achieve coordinated development between urban and rural areas and regions? These issues are once again placed before the Chinese people. Ignoring justice, ignoring social progress, and pursuing economic growth alone will inevitably further widen the gap between the rich and the poor, between regions, and between cities, ultimately leading to a surge in social problems. A society that unifies economic development with social justice means that abandoning social justice also means losing the foundation and momentum for development.
