Features: The Chinese nation is one of the most passionate about collecting. Throughout history, there have been many renowned collectors. Since the reform and opening-up, a nationwide "collecting fever" has swept across China. However, collecting is an art, and even seasoned collectors can sometimes fall victim to scams. Today, not only are fakes and damaged antiques rampant in the market, but even auctions sometimes feature counterfeit works. This is indeed a challenging issue for collectors. In light of this, we have compiled and published a series of books titled "Bao Fo Jiao Series," divided into two categories: "Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Identification" and "Chinese Antique Identification." This series emphasizes "practicality" and "actionability," with the goal of providing tangible assistance to all collectors. All the authors of this series are not only research experts but also "collectors" and "enthusiasts," each with practical experience and having "found bargains" in their respective fields. Some of the works featured in the books are even their personal collections.
The author of Identification of Zhang Daqian, Mr. Yezi, is currently a senior editor of Art Newspaper. He is also a calligraphy and painting appraiser, collector, and art historian, with multiple published works. The art section he oversees in Art Newspaper titled Appraisal and Collection stands out among the numerous collecting publications and sections, renowned for its willingness to critique counterfeit calligraphy and paintings. The book is written in an accessible and engaging manner, making it a highly practical and valuable work.
