Features: This book has a certain international flavor and is at the forefront of theoretical and practical aspects. Starting from 2000, after experiencing twists and turns, we conducted three years of investigation, research, and two years of practical operations in sports events, deeply analyzing a series of domestic and international new competitions, including the 2000 Sydney Olympics, the NBA in the United States, the 2003 Women's World Cup, the newly established Chinese Super League, and the upcoming Agricultural Games, among more than ten highly practical top-tier events. We conducted surveys and interviews with professional institutions and experts in this field both domestically and abroad, obtaining a large amount of precious first-hand materials on event organization. This book is the first systematic work in China to explore sports management and operations. The author constructs a framework for sports event management and operations from three perspectives: management, operations, and organizational practice. The first part introduces the book from a management perspective, elaborating on the five key management points of sports events, including event planning, planning and control of event logistics, event reception process management, event negotiation and contracts, and event risk management. The second part introduces the book from a marketing perspective, detailing the operational philosophy and marketing practices of sports events, including effective sports event marketing, effective sports event packaging, market development and fundraising management for sports events, broadcasting rights sales, ticket sales, and merchandise licensing. The third part discusses the organizational practices of sports events and case studies from an organizational practice perspective, including the hosting of sports events and urban development, classified sports events, charitable sports events, opening ceremonies, closing ceremonies, and award banquets of sports events. The appendix introduces standardized texts and related materials of internationally used sports events. The content of this book has a certain international flavor and is at the forefront of theoretical and practical aspects, which is very helpful for readers to familiarize themselves with sports event operations and master event management skills. This book can be used as a reference for sports researchers and also for training sports industry management personnel. It serves as a comprehensive guide for event organizers and professional sports marketing companies.
