What is pediatric interstitial nephritis?

Patient's question:

I have been careless about my daughter's health. I took her to the hospital for a check-up, and the doctor said she has interstitial nephritis. What is this disease, and how does it happen?

Doctor's answer:

Children are in a growth phase with insufficient immunity. If they contract kidney disease, it will have adverse effects on their development and health. The early symptoms of pediatric interstitial nephritis are not obvious. In the later stages, symptoms of kidney failure may appear, such as loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, weight loss, anemia, and high blood pressure.
