Patient's question:
I have freckles on my face, black ones. They only appear on the right half of my face. At 17, they haven't grown on the left side yet. It's not something I was born with, and there's no family history of this. My family says I only had one when I was 2. The more I age, the more they grow. Sun exposure makes the color darker. I've had them treated at beauty salons, but it didn't work. They still grow back. I wonder if this symptom could be due to lead or mercury poisoning. Is there a solution?Doctor's answer:
Mercury Poisoning: Symptom BackgroundMercury poisoning manifests in widely varying ways in different individuals. Due to individual biochemical sensitivity, genetics, the amount of mercury ingested, age of exposure, form of mercury, and the influence of other synergistic toxins, different manifestations occur, each given a separate name. As Y. Cutler explains in his book "Dental Materials Disease, Mercury," it can cause "confusing, multiple problems." In fact, one of the criticisms of dental materials disease is that it causes so many problems. Mercury indeed causes many diseases, but, like the fable of the blind men and the elephant, modern physicians are not well-trained to identify the root cause of a patient's illness. They are trained to translate what they see into Latin, look up the answer in textbooks, and treat accordingly. Toxins damage the body's basic metabolism, and different people will exhibit different symptoms depending on their own biochemical functions. As poisoning becomes more severe, modern doctors may add more diagnoses to the surface symptoms—a patient might start as depressed, then be diagnosed with hypothyroidism, allergies, and asthma. But no one considers why one person develops more and more "diseases," while a single diagnosis—chronic mercury poisoning—can explain all the issues.
Mercury poisoning is even more destructive to developing children because it damages neural development. If an adult and a child are exposed to the same dose of mercury, the symptoms of mercury poisoning may be completely different. An adult might feel fatigue, food allergies, or depression, while a child might develop severe autism. Some experts estimate that mercury's destructive impact on children is 5 to 10 times greater than on adults. Exposure to mercury in early childhood has a more destructive effect. The focus of this website is to explore mercury poisoning in children. Here are some observations you can use to determine if your child may have symptoms of mercury poisoning. 1. Symptoms of autism, Asperger's, pervasive developmental delay, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and attention deficit disorder (ADD) align perfectly with those of mercury poisoning. We believe that a diagnosis of any of the above conditions also represents a diagnosis of mercury poisoning. Many symptoms begin neurologically, but for clarity, we have separated many neurological symptoms into the other subcategories below.
2. Typical neurological responses in children with mercury poisoning include lack of eye contact, emotional apathy, repetitive behaviors (doing the same thing over and over), lack of response to being called, difficulty sharing attention (not looking at something a parent points to), sensory integration issues (sensitivity to sound, light, oral, and tactile stimuli), stubbornness in transitions, and difficulty concentrating.
3. Typical language manifestations in children with mercury poisoning include delayed or lost language development, speech clarity issues, poor language comprehension, language repetition problems, and word or grammatical errors.
4. Typical motor neurological manifestations in children with mercury poisoning include gross or fine motor delays; clapping hands; spinning, rocking, or other repetitive, rhythmic behaviors; walking on tiptoes; abnormal gait; clumsiness; and poor coordination.
5. Typical psychological manifestations in children with mercury poisoning may include lack of socialization or withdrawal, excessive shyness, hyperactivity or irritability, aggressive behavior, temper tantrums, irrational fears, night terrors, anxiety, depression, and mood swings.
6. Typical physiological, metabolic, and other manifestations in children with mercury poisoning may include muscle weakness (hypotonia), allergies, eczema, gastrointestinal diseases, constipation, diarrhea, yeast overgrowth, weakened immunity, chronic ear and other infections, hormonal imbalances, developmental delays, anorexia, lethargy, hyperactivity, sleep disorders, dilated pupils, long eyelashes, or other autoimmune reactions such as asthma, childhood diabetes, and multiple sclerosis.
Mercury alone cannot be the cause or factor of all these symptoms, but it is the spark that triggers a series of bodily damages. Mercury continuously kills nerve cells in the brain, damages the central nervous system, and leads to widespread neurological, cognitive, and sensory abnormalities. Mercury replaces essential vitamins and minerals, and the loss of these substances will continue to cause damage to the brain, immune system, hormones, and essentially all other bodily systems. Mercury weakens the body's detoxification system, allowing other toxins to accumulate and damage the body, as toxins are everywhere in our environment. Mercury damages the gastrointestinal tract, causing ecological imbalance (an imbalance between beneficial and harmful bacteria) and yeast overgrowth. Yeast itself is a neurotoxin that can create tiny holes in the intestinal wall, leading to a condition called "leaky gut." Undigested food molecules pass through these holes into the bloodstream, and the body mistakes them for foreign invaders, triggering an immune response that causes food allergies, eczema, and other autoimmune reactions. If food allergies and damaged organs are left untreated, they can lead to chronic ear and other infections. Treating these diseases with antibiotics is a typical history for many autistic children and only makes the problem worse. Antibiotics exacerbate the ecological imbalance of the intestines, like testosterone, worsening mercury toxicity. The damage to the gastrointestinal tract, the body's first line of immune defense, reduces the body's immune system.
Mercury is a hidden, circulating factor or cause of physiological damage. For parents, the most significant news is that the "spark"—mercury removal—will restore the body's balance and lead to healing. Eliminating the "spark," or mercury, now has easy and effective solutions. Combined with certain supportive therapies, autism and some other neurodegenerative diseases can be completely and thoroughly reversed. This is not just a theory but a clinically proven, undeniable treatment approach. —Dr. Rashid Buttar, Vice Chairman of the American Clinical Metal Toxicologist Committee
"Chelation" is not in most physicians' vocabulary. Only a few trained doctors can treat these children, and they are already overwhelmed. The good news is that children respond very well to chelation therapy. Neurological recovery during daily treatments is extraordinary.
