Features: Hubei Province, formerly part of "Huguang," is located in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River and is one of China's provinces with the highest concentration of freshwater lakes. The Yangtze River and the Jiang River flow through the province, with vast waters of Honghu Lake shrouded in mist. The region is crisscrossed by river networks, dotted with lakes, and is renowned as the "Province of a Thousand Lakes and the Land of Fish and Rice." The saying "Huguang is prosperous, and the world is fed" reflects its importance. As a key part of the two lakes region, Hubei is particularly rich in freshwater fish resources, as well as meat livestock, poultry eggs, grains, fruits and vegetables, and numerous local specialties. "Turnip and tofu are from Huangzhou, Fankou bream and Ezhou wine, Xanning osmanthus, Puchi tea, Luotian chestnuts, Baha lotus roots, Honghu wild ducks and lotus seeds, Wudang monkey head and Shennong mushrooms, Fangxian black fungus and Enshi bamboo shoots, Yichang oranges and Xiangxi fish."
