Features: "Classic Reading Pocket Books" are organized and compiled based on the basic concepts of the new compulsory Chinese curriculum standards or designated book lists, featuring representative classics of Chinese outstanding traditional culture. The period of childhood is when memory power is most vigorous in a person's life. By reading classic passages, cultural, intellectual training, and character development can be achieved. "Classic Reading Pocket Books" are in large fonts, small formats, with standard phonetic annotations, and come with a beautifully designed VCD disc for easy memorization and portability. "The Rules for Students" is one of the "Classic Reading Pocket Books." "The Rules for Students" was originally titled "Instructions for the Young." The compiler was Li Yuxiu, styled Ziqian, from Jiaozhou, Shanxi Province. During the Kangxi era of the Qing Dynasty, he passed the county-level examination and taught for a long time. After his death, he was enshrined in the local "Temple of the Local Heroes." The "The Rules for Students" he compiled focuses on filial piety, fraternal duty, benevolence, diligence, and integrity, summarizing the traditional requirements for children in a simple and accessible manner, easy to recite and remember. It was highly praised by contemporaries as "convenient for recitation and explanation, all closely related to practice" and "enabling young people to understand the great principles." It was revised by Jia Youren of Fushan, Shanxi, and became an influential enlightenment textbook. This book includes "The Duty of a Student" by Guan Zhong, the prime minister of the State of Qi during the Spring and Autumn Period, for reference. Based on an authoritative version, this book cross-references other editions for collation and includes a "Quick Guide" section for colloquial translations or necessary annotations.
