A child has a fever and seizures. Is there a good treatment method?

Patient's question:

Duration of onset and persistence of this illness: 15 minutes

Doctor's answer:

Hello: The child's condition should be considered a symptom of high fever convulsions.
Family care for high fever convulsions:
1. Handling during an episode:
(1) Acupuncture or thumb pressure on the following points: Zhongwan (GV26), Baihui (GV20), Hegu (LI4), and Shenmen (HT7).
(2) Actively lower the temperature while ensuring ventilation, warmth, and loose clothing. Use alcohol or lukewarm water to bathe the neck sides, armpits, and groin areas.
(3) Loosen the collar to keep the airway clear. Lie the child on their side to prevent vomit or secretions from being inhaled. If the child's jaw is not yet clenched, place a folded handkerchief or cloth strip, or a spoon handle wrapped in cloth, between the upper and lower teeth to prevent tongue biting.
(4) Administer antipyretics and anticonvulsant drugs (e.g., phenobarbital tablets).
(5) After simple emergency treatment, immediately take the child to the hospital for diagnosis and treatment.
2. For cases of recurrent episodes or children with a family history of high fever convulsions, give antipyretics and anticonvulsant drugs at the onset of fever or during vaccinations to prevent seizures. For some high fever convulsion patients, medication should be continued for 2–3 years or until the child is 4–6 years old.
