How to treat delayed intellectual and language development in children?

Patient's question:

At five months of age, the child experienced recurrent respiratory infections (bronchopneumonia), sometimes severe enough to develop into infectious asthma. They have been hospitalized ten times. Tests revealed abnormalities in two or three T cells and immunoglobulins. Additionally, the child exhibited developmental delays, starting to walk at 15 months of age. Gross and fine motor skills were acceptable, but intelligence and language development were below that of a one-year-old infant. CT, MRI, EEG, and brainstem auditory evoked potential tests were mostly normal.

Doctor's answer:

The effects of medication on improving brain intelligence are not significant. The best approach is language and motor rehabilitation training. Spend more time with children in daily life. Develop intelligence through games.
