Patient's question:
My baby always tilts their head, and sometimes they close one eye to see things. What's going on?Doctor's answer:
Causes of strabismus in children:1. Immaturity. For example, weaning, teething, fright, or shock can all disrupt the brain's fusion function, leading to strabismus.
2. Congenital abnormalities. These are often caused by abnormal development of the extraocular muscles' positions or the muscles themselves.
3. Acquired diseases. Infections, fever, trauma, or tumors. Some children develop strabismus after suffering from a serious illness and having a high fever for several days. Others may develop it after falling off the bed and hitting the ground.
