Features: In a recorded dialogue with Isaiah Berlin, Ramin Jahanbegloo asked about the relationship between his views and vitalism philosophy. Berlin, however, shifted the conversation to romanticism, stating that "vitalism philosophy is related to romanticism" and that "historically, romanticism preceded vitalism." At the same time, Berlin frankly admitted that he had "done extensive research on romanticism." Yet, the interviewer seemed to miss Berlin's point and continued to focus on Bergson's vitalism against intellectualism, until Berlin reiterated that this philosophy was merely a descendant of romanticist philosophical thought. Perhaps realizing Berlin's repeated references to romanticism, the interviewer weakly raised two or three questions about it and ended the discussion hastily.
