Features: As a category within China's musical instrument system, the dizi and xiao have accumulated a vast number of traditional and innovative tunes, forming a series of unique playing techniques with diverse styles. They have summarized a set of systematic and effective teaching pieces and methods. In terms of pieces, techniques, and teaching, they have developed their own independent system. There are far more famous dizi and xiao pieces in China than the few included in this book, and the vast ocean of Chinese dizi and xiao masterpieces cannot be contained in such a small volume. However, due to the limitations of space, the author has focused more on works with a strong traditional flavor and a deeper historical heritage, and inevitably, personal preferences and biases are present. Regarding each piece in this book, the author has provided simple technical analyses in as accessible a manner as possible, while also unconsciously incorporating some personal emotional understanding of the works. These can only serve as references for readers or researchers.
