Patient's question:
Slightly feverish, coughing, nosebleed. Then had a blood test, white blood cells, MCV, and MCH were low.Doctor's answer:
Hello; Leukopenia is a common blood disease. When the number of white blood cells in peripheral blood persistently remains below 4×10^9/L, it is generally referred to as leukopenia. If the total number of white blood cells is significantly reduced, below 2×10^9/L, and the absolute count of neutrophils is below 0.5×10^9/L, or even absent, it is called agranulocytosis. The former is primarily characterized by fatigue and dizziness, often accompanied by reduced appetite, weakness in limbs, insomnia, frequent dreams, low-grade fever, palpitations, chills, and lower back pain. The latter is mostly characterized by sudden onset, chills, high fever, and sore throat. This disease can affect both males and females of any age. Agranulocytosis is a severe stage of leukopenia, and both have similar etiology and pathogenesis.
