Patient's question:
Every time it's summer, Bell's palsy occurs, which is really annoying. How should it be treated?Doctor's answer:
Bell's palsy is characterized by motor dysfunction of the facial expression muscle group, manifesting as facial paralysis. Patients often cannot even perform basic facial movements such as raising the eyebrows, closing the eyes, or pouting. It can be caused by infections, trauma, poisoning, or prolonged exposure to wind and cold. Treatment: Massage and acupuncture can be performed. Easily digestible foods should be consumed, while irritating foods should be avoided. Minimize exposure to wind. In severe cases, botulinum toxin treatment is recommended. This situation does not appear to be Bell's palsy.
