Guan Renshan is a male Manchu writer born on February 2, 1963, in Fengnan County, Tangshan City, Hebei Province. He began literary in 1984 and is currently a member of the China Writers' Association and a professional writer at the Hebei Literature Institute. He was once ranked among the Top Ten Young Writers of Hebei Province. His major works include:

His works have been frequently reprinted in publications such as Novel Monthly, Novel Selection, Xinhua Digest, and Works and Controversies. Among them, the short-story collection Selected Stories of Guan Renshan won the Fifth National Ethnic Literature Award; the short stories Bitter Snow and Drunk Drum received the Excellent Novel Award from People's Literature; the medium-length story Return to Home in September won the Excellent Novel Award from the Sixth October Literary Magazine and the First Prize from Beijing Literature; and the short story Ship Sacrifice won the champion award in the Second World Chinese Literature Competition organized by Hong Kong's Asia Weekly. His works have been adapted into films, television dramas, stage plays, and radio dramas multiple times. Some of his works have been translated into English, French, and Japanese.
