Features: PETS-5 is advanced, with an outline vocabulary of over 5,500 words. When selecting vocabulary for the fifth level, in addition to referring to some vocabulary lists of the same level, consideration was also given to the functional use of language at this level, which is essential for the work that candidates will or have been engaged in. Candidates who pass this level of exam have an English proficiency that basically meets the needs of pursuing postgraduate studies in non-English majors or conducting academic research in China. This level of English also meets the basic needs for professional and managerial work domestically and internationally. When compiling this book, it broke the convention of other vocabulary books being arranged in alphabetical order. Instead, it is organized based on the affinity of the Chinese meanings of the vocabulary, combined with encyclopedic knowledge classification principles. This arrangement is both conducive to memorization and facilitates comparing the differences between synonyms and antonyms. For words with multiple meanings, they are placed in different categories according to their different meanings. After each entry, the phonetic notation, part of speech, and definitions are provided, with definitions focusing on medical and health-related fields, and example sentences also emphasizing medical and health-related descriptions, arranged in order of their common usage frequency.
