Little baby has been eating a lot recently, is that normal?

Patient's question:

The baby is only 17 days old today. In the past two days, I've noticed that it's eating a lot more, with milk intake already exceeding 80 ML (formula). After eating, it still seems like it's not full. I'm very worried, always afraid of overfeeding the baby. But if the baby isn't full, it won't sleep. I don't know what to do...

Doctor's answer:

What are you worried about? Nowadays, babies are like little genies—when they're not full, they have to eat, and once they're full, they won't drink even a drop more.
When my baby was 12 days old, he always needed 80-90 ml each time. At first, we were afraid to feed him too much, but he kept crying and couldn't sleep well. Later, we consulted a doctor, who said not to intentionally restrict his intake but to try feeding him until he was fully satisfied. Then he would sleep well. My baby is now fed to fullness and can sleep for 3 or 4 hours at a time.
