Bronchitis is secondary to upper respiratory tract infection and is common in late autumn and winter. It is an acute reaction of the tracheal and urethral mucosa caused by infection (bacteria, viruses), irritation (physical, chemical), or allergy, classified as acute or chronic. Adenovirus or influenza virus is more common in adults, while respiratory syncytial virus or parainfluenza virus is more common in children.Advice: Childhood bronchitis is secondary to upper respiratory tract infection and is common in late autumn and winter.
