Features: The book is divided into three parts: The main part is "Notes on Party History," consisting of eighty essays. The order of the essays has been slightly adjusted to group similar topics together, but the essays retain their informal and scattered nature, combining order with disorder. The second part is "Reminiscences of Hu Sheng," comprising eight essays. These essays could also be included in "Notes on Party History" due to their focused themes, but they are presented as a separate part. The essay format is relatively light and unbound by form, allowing for the expression of personal views, the use of appropriate historical materials ("narrative with commentary"), and the inclusion of personal recollections, making it quite readable for readers. The third part is "Miscellaneous Essays and Musings," consisting of thirteen essays. Some of these essays also touch on Party history but are not suitable for inclusion in "Notes on Party History." The miscellaneous essays include three political essays such as "Advancing with the Times and the Party," "Return from a Human Rights Dialogue," two theoretical essays like "On the Scientific Spirit" and "Humanistic Reflections on Technological Development," and four prefaces such as "Preface to the 'Four Great Asians' Series." The musings include four essays such as "Great Men Are Possible, So Are We." The miscellaneous essays on combating (cults), superstition, and pseudoscience are a topic I have been particularly concerned with in recent years.
