Features: Management education is a crucial means of cultivating and developing modern management talents. The selection of teaching methods is also very critical for improving the quality of management education. There are many teaching methods in management education, such as case studies, seminars, lectures, simulation exercises, sensitivity training, role-playing, and so on. In the MBA program, case studies have been proven to be a very effective teaching method. However, at the undergraduate level, there are not many management cases suitable for undergraduate students to read. Therefore, for management education at the undergraduate level, Shanghai International Business College has compiled the Case Collection of Management, as a supplementary textbook for the Principles of Management textbook, with the aim of improving teaching effectiveness. All the cases in this book are from Chinese enterprises and involve the practical application of management principles, including planning theory, organizational theory, personnel theory, leadership theory, and control theory. The book includes a total of 4 cases, helping students understand the abstract theories of management principles from different perspectives. These cases are primarily of medium and short length, with clear and well-structured presentations of relevant facts. For the problems encountered in the cases, there is generally an "optimal" solution and a "standard" answer, and students are expected to derive this solution using some (theories or) methodological models they have learned. These are designed to help students deepen their understanding of the theories or methods they have learned, without the burden of exploring new ideas, making them highly suitable for undergraduate students. The book also includes two appendices: Appendix I is the "Teaching Syllabus for Principles of Management," and Appendix II is the "Sample Exam for Principles of Management," serving as necessary and beneficial supplements to guide students' learning direction and enhance the completeness of the book.
