Features: This book is compiled in line with the spirit of the "Interim Regulations on the Translation Professional Qualification (Level) Examination" issued by the National Personnel Department and the requirements of the "Trial Syllabus for the National Translation Professional Qualification (Level) Examination - English Translation (Intermediate Level 3)". It is a comprehensive English textbook for translation (Level 3). The purpose of this book is to systematically enhance students' vocabulary and grammar knowledge, as well as improve their reading comprehension and ability to distinguish between synonyms through reading and exercises. The book consists of 18 units, with 2 lessons per unit. Each lesson is divided into two main parts: text and exercises. The exercises are divided into five sections: vocabulary, grammar, reading, cloze, and writing. Given that this book is primarily intended for preparing for the Comprehensive English Translation (Intermediate Level 3) examination, the types of exercises, apart from the vocabulary exercises related to the text, are largely similar to the exam format. The 8 units of the text are organized around 8 major themes: sports and entertainment, tourism, politics, culture, education and health, industry and agriculture, and science. Each unit includes 2 lessons that revolve around the relevant theme, and the post-lesson reading exercises, cloze, and writing assignments are all related to the theme. To facilitate students in mastering relevant vocabulary, we have also prepared basic vocabulary lists for each theme. Since translation covers a wide range of topics, mastering these basic vocabulary terms will help students engage in specific translation activities.
