They preserve many valuable academic contents worth exploring and learning. Due to their concise and focused expressions, memorable rhythms, and ease of memorization, they have been passed down to this day and remain enduringly popular. To promote the heritage of traditional Chinese medicine and meet the needs of modern readers, the Acupuncture and Moxibustion Department of Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine has extensively collected ancient and modern acupuncture and moxibustion odes and selected 46 of them. These are categorized into four parts based on content: Odes on Meridians and Acupoints, Odes on Needling and Moxibustion Techniques, Odes on Acupuncture and Moxibustion Therapy, and Odes on Zi-Wu Liu-Note Needling Techniques. The original odes and odes are faithfully compiled, with sources annotated, their academic value highlighted, and concise colloquial explanations provided. Among them, the newly composed odes reflect the content of the "International Standard for the Nomenclature of the 14 Meridians" (1989) and the national acupoint standards promulgated by China in 1991, offering convenience for academic unification and readers' learning and application. The compilation of this book reflects the systematic, representative, scientific, and practical nature of acupuncture and moxibustion. Mastering it will facilitate its heart-felt application in clinical practice, bringing lifelong benefits.
