Sunken ship

Features: The entire story of The Boat depicts the joys and sorrows of Narayanaksha and Kamana, a young couple of immense piety and kindness. In this regard, it resembles a legend in our country. However, The Boat is far from being a simple, didactic legend aimed at promoting virtue and warning against vice. The coincidences in the story of The Boat are clearly depicted by Tagore as the arrangement of all things by God or the will of God. He intentionally uses this to propagate his religious beliefs. But more importantly, we must see that Tagore actually expresses his own philosophy of life and worldview through this story.
