Two-month-old baby's stool is not normal

Patient's question:

Medical Description: The child is currently two months old and is exclusively formula-fed, with feeding every four hours. Previously, the child had two to three bowel movements per day, with normal stool color. In the past week, almost every time the child feeds on milk or water, a small amount of stool is squeezed out, very little, just sticking to the anus. The past two days, there were two bowel movements (larger in quantity), and today there were two bowel movements as well, both dark green in color and resembling a paste, like flour paste. In addition to normal bowel movements, there is always a small amount of stool coming out from the anus at any time.
History of Treatment and Effect: In the past week, the situation has been like this.
Expected Help: I want to know what is causing this and how to treat it.

Doctor's answer:

If a baby only passes gas for a long time without defecating, it may be a sign of constipation. Infant constipation can be broadly categorized into two types: one is functional constipation, which can be cured through proper management; the other is constipation caused by congenital intestinal malformations, which cannot be cured through general treatment and requires surgical correction. The majority of infant constipation is functional.
Mothers should increase the frequency of feeding water and can also add orange juice, pineapple juice, jujube juice, or cabbage water to stimulate intestinal movement. For infants and young children, a reasonable diet not only helps prevent constipation but also has a positive therapeutic effect on it.
