Jungian Psychology and Buddhism

Author: Liu Yaozhong
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2004-04-01
Features: This book covers a wide range of topics, including Gnosticism, Hinduism, alchemy, Buddhism, Taoism, and Christianity, and discusses the religious policies of ancient emperors as well as the thoughts of modern philosophers and writers. The chapter exploring the relationship between Jungian psychology and Gnosticism is quite similar to the content of my two books, Jung published by Dongda Book Company in Taiwan in 1995 and Building the Temple of the Soul: A Biography of the Famous Western Psychologist Jung published by Dongfang Publishing House in mainland China in 1996. These books are closely related to Fei Xue. The latter part mainly discusses the connection between Jung and Buddhism.
Chapter 2 introduces Jung's training in Buddhism, while Chapter 3 examines the relationship between the main ideas of Jungian psychology and Buddhist philosophy. The content primarily uses Buddhist philosophy to argue that it is one of the main sources of Jungian psychology. The focus is on psychology, but it also extensively covers Taoism and Buddhism to support the author's arguments.
