Doctor's answer:

Spitting up is a common phenomenon in infants, caused by two main reasons: first, it is a symptom of systemic or gastrointestinal diseases; second, the anatomical and physiological characteristics of the infant's gastrointestinal tract make it prone to spitting up. Overall, spitting up caused by the second reason is more common.
After a baby spits up, if there are no other abnormalities, there is generally no need to worry. It will gradually improve over time and will not interfere with the baby's growth and development. The milk vomited by the baby may appear as curd-like, which is a result of the reaction between milk and stomach acid. This is normal and does not require concern. However, if the baby frequently vomits, and the vomit is yellow-green or coffee-colored, accompanied by symptoms such as high fever, nausea, or vomiting, it is important to seek medical attention promptly.
When changing diapers, it is important to adopt the correct diaper-changing posture. Try to hold the baby upright while changing the diaper, allowing the baby's body to be in a slightly downward position at about 45 degrees. After finishing the diaper change, make sure the baby burps: hold the baby upright against your shoulder and gently pat their back to help them burp out the air swallowed while drinking milk. Then, place the baby back in bed, which can help reduce spitting up.
After feeding, it is not advisable to let the baby lie flat immediately. Instead, the baby should be kept in a semi-reclined position for a while before being placed on their stomach. The amount of diapering should not be excessive, and the intervals between changes should not be too frequent.
We sincerely wish the baby a healthy and happy transformation.
