Features: Social security is an undertaking that emerged with the birth of human civilization. In the process of social development and progress, the cause of social security has gradually become legalized and systematized. Today, the establishment and improvement of the social security system have become an important work that governments and people worldwide are jointly concerned about and actively engaged in. It has become a safety net for political stability and economic development in a country, a symbol of effectively safeguarding the right to survival of humanity. This book is primarily intended as a teaching material for graduate and undergraduate students. To enable students to grasp the basic theories and practices of social security, we have strived to integrate theories and practices of social security both at home and abroad in the process of writing this textbook, constructing a unique theoretical and practical framework for the book. In terms of basic theories, it introduces students to the fundamental concepts, functions, systems, and administrative agencies of social security, as well as the characteristics, roles, and implementation principles of specific programs within the social security system, laying a foundation for students to delve deeper into and conduct research on social security theories. In terms of practical operations, it introduces both the general patterns of actual operations in social security programs worldwide and the specific procedures for current and future social security work in China. This allows students to understand the operational principles of social security work in China while also preparing them for the demands of future work in China's social security system as it gradually improves.
