How to deal with runny nose?

Patient's question:

My child is a late-born baby, and now they are only 6 years old. Recently, due to the seasonal change from autumn to winter, my child has been frequently suffering from fever due to temperature fluctuations. However, after taking medicine, the fever subsides, but they continue to have a persistent runny nose. I don’t know what to do. I am very worried about how to assist: What should I do when my child constantly has a runny nose?

Doctor's answer:

Maintain fresh indoor air, with the room temperature around 20℃ for a certain temperature.
(2) Give the child more water or fruit. When the child coughs, do not change their diaper, give water, or administer medication to avoid choking.
(3) Pay attention to the child's oral hygiene. After meals and before bedtime, use warm water or light salt water to wash the child's face. Before napping, let the child wash their face. For younger children, you can use a cloth dipped in plain water or light salt water to wipe their mouth.
(4) Let the child lie half-seated and pay attention to frequently having the child move around to facilitate the drainage of phlegm.
