Ileitis after treatment without symptoms still needs medication?

Patient's question:

Painful contractions, dry cough, high fever for 5 days. Past treatment and effectiveness: Intravenous fluids for 3 days, received Cortisone, and oral Si Mo Tang for antiviral treatment. Currently asymptomatic. What kind of assistance is needed: Do you still need medication? What kind of medication?

Doctor's answer:

The treatment approach involves conservative therapy, with ampicillin at a dose of 0.1g/(kg?d) added to 0.9% normal saline, administered via intravenous infusion twice daily, combined with metronidazole given as a single intravenous infusion daily. For patients with more severe fever and abdominal pain, dexamethasone at a dose of 5mg per dose is added, with dexamethasone use not exceeding 3 days.
After 2 days, a significant increase in white blood cells and noticeable symptom relief were observed, and the patient was stabilized for 1 week of treatment. After 2 to 3 days of treatment, fever largely subsided, white blood cells showed a marked increase, and abdominal pain symptoms significantly improved. Following 1 week of anti-infection treatment, most patients were discharged with full recovery.
