How to treat pediatric meibomian gland cysts

Patient's question:

There is a package, when pressed by hand, it walks. It doesn't hurt or itch. At the age of one, it seemed a bit, and last year a CT scan showed 3MM3MM. Past treatment history and effectiveness: Currently, no treatment has been given. What kind of assistance is needed: Please send your opinions to my space.

Doctor's answer:

An eyelid cyst is an idiopathic, non-infectious, chronic granulomatous inflammation of the meibomian glands, previously known as hordeolum. It is caused by the blockage of the meibomian gland ducts, leading to the retention of glandular secretions within the tarsus, which results in chronic irritation to surrounding tissues.
Recommendations: For small, asymptomatic cysts, conservative treatment is recommended. For slightly larger cysts, methods such as cold compresses, massage, or physical therapy may be used to promote the disappearance of the lump, though the effectiveness is often unreliable. Recurrent cases may benefit from autologous blood therapy. Larger cysts typically require surgical excision.
