Dried Skull Heads
Mark loves playing a computer game called King of the Jungle. In the game, he has to avoid sinking into quicksand or being strangled by vine monsters, and collecting ten dried skull heads earns him an extra life—it’s both thrilling and dangerous. Mark never imagined that Aunt Bena would send him a real dried skull head as a gift through a friend. This dried skull head was incredibly magical. At night, it began to glow and even flew into the air. To Mark’s astonishment, he was actually transported to the tropical jungle of Baladora Island—where Aunt Bena worked. However, Aunt Bena had disappeared. Mark vowed to find her. Could the dried skull head truly possess some magical power to help him? What awaited Mark in the tropical jungle—quick sand, vine monsters, or something else?
Lawn Gnome
A family of skunks, two pink flamingos, a seal that plays ball with its nose, and an angel with huge white wings—these are the peculiar lawn decorations that Joe Burton’s father loves. He has been competing in gardening contests with Mr. McCale, his neighbor, and last year, he actually won the championship. But ever since he brought two ugly lawn gnomes home, trouble started. First, the melons in Mr. McCale’s garden were broken, then the tomatoes in his own garden were squashed. The two families began to suspect each other, and it almost came to blows. Joe and his dog were even considered the prime suspects for the mischief, but no one believed him when he went to investigate in the garden at night.
Next, even bigger trouble arrived. Who was causing all the chaos? Joe determined to gather evidence and uncover the truth. However, the events that followed took Joe completely by surprise.
