Features: This textbook is compiled in accordance with teaching requirements, the fundamental positioning and characteristics of the course, and to meet the current needs of cultivating students' abilities. The content of the textbook fully reflects the achievements of the reform of the university physics experiment course and laboratory construction over the years. The textbook has the following characteristics:
1. The system of the textbook is more perfect and reasonable. The preface elaborates on the status, role, and implementation process of the course in detail; Chapter introduces the concept of uncertainty based on error theory, and makes some reasonable provisions for using uncertainty to solve specific problems; Chapter 2 summarizes and generalizes the basic physical experiment measurement methods, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of experimental measurement methods; Chapters 3 and 4 are basic experiments and comprehensive and modern physics experiments, with a total of 30 items and 34 experiments; Chapter 5 is experimental design knowledge. Through the study of basic knowledge and experimental projects, students gain a deeper understanding of the design of new experiments and the process of applying existing knowledge to design experiments, cultivating their innovative thinking and abilities.
2. The description of experimental principles is concise and clear, easy to understand, and particularly highlights the essence of "experiment." The experimental content and method suggestions are closely integrated with the experimental process, enabling students to conduct experiments independently. Based on teaching practice, special emphasis is placed on potential problems that may arise during experimental operations, and clear requirements are proposed for data processing. Some commonly used instruments are introduced in the corresponding experiments. The "Analysis and Reflection" section has been added, and some experiments include improved and design-oriented experimental content, which not only summarizes the experiments but also proposes some broadening and design-oriented questions to inspire students' creative thinking.
3. Some outdated and verification-based experimental projects have been eliminated. In particular, two computer application experiments have been added in line with the development of computers, giving students a preliminary intuitive understanding of computer-controlled experiments and data processing. In the "Mixed Method for Determining Specific Heat Capacity" experiment, through computer display, students can visually observe the temperature change process of cold and hot objects when they are mixed.
4. The English names of some specialized terms and instruments in physical experiments are listed to facilitate students' learning and reference, improving their English proficiency.
