Features: Huang Binhong was born in 1865 in Anhui Province and is one of China's modern masters with profound learning, extensive writings, and exceptional achievements in landscape painting. He abandoned the literary style of landscape painting that imitated ancient works and confined itself to the charm of brushwork and ink, focusing instead on life and sketching. His sketches accumulated to tens of thousands. In his middle years, his paintings conveyed a sense of profound and mellow clarity, while in his later years, he became even more skilled in the use of ink and water techniques, excelling in heavy and dense ink. Throughout the 420+ exquisite works included in this collection, the grand and innovative of his landscape paintings can be fully appreciated.
