Features: Black Africa, also known as Tropical Africa, refers to the African interior inhabited by Black people south of the Sahara. The main characteristics of tribal sculpture: simplicity, refinement, and luster, are the result of long-term evolution. Over the years of evolution, these "form symbols" that have accumulated countless generations of myth-making experience have become standardized. Therefore, the naivety, innocence, absurdity, and expressiveness of Black African sculpture, as well as its sense of rhythm and vitality, attracted the attention of European masters such as Picasso, Klee, and Nolde in the early 20th century. From then on, they developed a strong interest in tribal art, initially in Black African art, and later in the arts of the Americas and Oceania.
