Patient's question:
My aunt had a son in the first half of the year, but now the baby in her aunt's house is 7 months old and doesn't cry or laugh much, nor can it crawl or sit by itself. It doesn't seem to understand what others say, and it seems to be particularly slow to respond. The family is worried that the baby might have cerebral palsy.What kind of help is desired: What are the symptoms of infantile cerebral palsy?
Doctor's answer:
The early manifestations of infantile cerebral palsy include:1. Difficulty in feeding after birth, such as weak sucking, swallowing problems, and poor lip closure;
2. Infants are often quiet, with little crying, weak crying sounds, or overly calm. Alternatively, they may cry excessively, be easily irritable, easily startled, or experience recurrent muscle twitches;
3. Poor coordination, asymmetry, and few voluntary movements; delayed motor development, such as an inability to hold their head up in a prone position at 3-4 months.
