How to treat neonatal jaundice

Patient's question:

Five days after Shunsheng, the jaundice level was measured at 21 (attached is the test report) and it was noticed that there were white pustules on the body. The doctor recommended hospitalization for treatment. After one day of blue light exposure and intravenous fluid treatment, the jaundice level dropped to 16.
Previous treatment and effectiveness: Through one day of blue light exposure and intravenous fluid treatment, the current assistance needed: Will there be any after-effects after treatment?

Doctor's answer:

Most newborns experience jaundice again 2 to 3 days after birth, with the recurrence not exceeding the 5th day. If jaundice reappears after the 5th day, it should be considered pathological. Moreover, jaundice is most prominent around the 4 to 5th day, and it usually fades away between 10 to 14 days after birth. Physiological jaundice is generally mild and does not accompany other discomfort symptoms. You can try bathing with 20g each of Bupleurum, Gardenia, Rhubarb, and Stonecrop, decocted in water.
