Features: For managers eager to gain inspiration in their work, this book is full of enlightenment in addressing core company issues, thereby pointing out the most valuable direction for corporate transformation and development. Whether it's a large company or a small one, by following the coordinates provided in this book, your company will rise to the world-class level. Thanks to the assistance of managers from many companies (such as Unilever, Philips, British Steel, and Agritech2007, etc.), I have been able to apply my research findings to a wide range of practical management tasks, including corporate vision planning, the development of new business models in dynamic markets, accelerating new product development processes, portfolio management, and product structure planning, among others. However, more important than these practical projects is that by frequently exchanging ideas with knowledgeable individuals from various consulting firms, I have become even more confident that my research findings are on the right track, which has also promoted the continuation of related research. I realize that during my vacation, some research achievements have already been obtained, and now the most important thing is how to apply these results to practice. At the same time, I also discovered that I might have fallen into certain technical traps, just like many companies. Now, I can be more confident when telling my students: new process methods or new products must be closer to the end users; at the same time, I can also boldly tell my colleagues: applying theory to practice is more valuable than purely theoretical knowledge. Through participation in these practical engineering projects, I now have stronger reasons to believe that emphasizing applied research is equally important as studying theoretical concepts. During the final 18 months of writing, I was greatly encouraged and supported by many managers, consultants, and publishers from the companies I worked with. Their enthusiasm made it possible for this book to be published earlier. Here, I would like to sincerely thank Cees Groenewegen and Marc Vloemans. Not only did they carefully read my manuscript and provide constructive criticism, but they also recommended many cases that effectively illustrate the various viewpoints in this book.
