Features: Princess Ozma and Dorothy's friend, the good witch Glinda of Oz, and many familiar faces she knows, all want to learn more about her. So, in this new Oz story, Mr. L. Frank Baum, the Royal Historian of Oz, dedicates a full chapter to telling how Ozma and Dorothy get caught up in the conflict between the Munchkins and the Skeezers, how they face terrible dangers, and how Glinda works closely with the Great Wizard to save them from peril. The Wicked Witch of the West, Queen Kikiwit, is a vain and evil witch who actually causes all the trouble. She also makes everyone on the Magic Island face extraordinary difficulties under the glass dome.
Content of the book: Glinda, the good witch of Oz, is sitting on her magnificent throne, surrounded by her maids, one hundred of the most beautiful girls in the Land of Oz. The palace is built of rare marble, intricately carved, and polished to a mirror shine. The palace is filled with the delightful tinkling sound of fountains; the grand colonnade faces south, so that the girls, as they raise their heads from their embroidery, can gaze at the pink fields, rich with fruit or dotted with fragrant little woods. Sometimes one girl will sing a song, and the others will join in the chorus; sometimes one girl will stand up to dance, swaying to the melodious music played on the harps by her companions. Glinda smiles, happy to see her maids playing while working.
