Initially, this quiet lady did not write at home but went to a nearby café, where she would sit for hours with a cup of coffee and a glass of water, while her young daughter remained peacefully in a stroller at home. Although this story is now well-known and even cliché, it remains an inspiring and enchanting tale for millions of readers. On one hand, J.K. Rowling wrote the Harry Potter series of novels, which swept the globe in the 1990s and continues to be written; on the other hand, Joanne Rowling (J.K. was a pseudonym suggested by her agent) is a woman who dreams, somewhat shy, yet full of astonishing passion. She brilliantly turned her dreams into books and transformed her life. In January 1994, she divorced, lost her job, and lived in a small rented flat in Edinburgh, struggling to support her daughter. Yet just six years later, her debut novel, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, was adapted into a Hollywood film, and reports indicated her net worth had exceeded 1.5 billion pounds.
