What to do at home first if you have a high fever?

Patient's question:

My baby has always had frequent colds and fevers since she was a child. A few days ago, she had a fever late at night, but there were no hospital vehicles available in our area at that hour, and many places were already closed. As a new mother, I didn’t know how to take care of her and was extremely anxious. Another time, when we took her to the hospital, the doctor said that if a child has a fever, we can lower their temperature at home.
What kind of help would you like: What should I do at home first if my child has a fever? What are the specific methods?

Doctor's answer:

Fever is a common phenomenon in children from birth to 16 years old. A normal body temperature in children is between 36℃ and 37℃. When the temperature is between 37℃ and 37.8℃, it is considered a high fever; 37.8℃ to 38.5℃ is a moderate fever; and anything above 38.5℃ is a high fever.
Explain three physical cooling methods:
1. Warm foot bath: The water temperature should be around 37℃. It helps expand weak blood vessels through stimulation, promoting heat dissipation. When bathing, apply even pressure and linger slightly longer on areas rich in blood vessels, such as the armpits and groin. After the warm foot bath, wrap the baby snugly with a large towel.
