Author Introduction: Wang Balu is a professor in the Department of Physics at Southwest Normal University, a council member and academic committee member of the Physics Teaching Committee of the Chinese Educational Society, a council member of the journal Physics Communication, and the deputy editor of the journal Physics Teaching Exploration. With nearly 40 years of teaching experience, he has served as the director of the Theoretical Physics Teaching and Research Office and the Middle School Physics Teaching and Research Office at Southwest Normal University, as well as a master's supervisor in subject pedagogy. His main research areas include physical science, physical education, and modern educational technology. In recent years, he has published dozens of papers in journals such as Optics Letters, Physics, Educational Technology Research, Subject Pedagogy, Physics Communication, Physics Teacher, Contemporary Education (Hong Kong), and at international conferences. He served as the host of the national key project "The Correlation Optimization of Quality and Teaching Models of Computer-Assisted Instruction Software in Middle Schools" under the "Nineth Five-Year Plan" of the National Education Science. During his research, he worked diligently with middle school teachers to explore systematically the theory, methods, steps, and implementation strategies for advancing informatization in subject teaching in China's middle schools. From 2000 to 2003, he served as the lead lecturer and deputy team leader for the "National Training for Middle School Physics Core Teachers" (two sessions), the "National Training for Middle School Core Teachers in Comprehensive Practice Courses," and the "National Training for University Teachers in Subject Pedagogy," all organized by Southwest Normal University under the commission of the Ministry of Education. Due to his clear and engaging teaching style, closely linked to the realities of middle school reforms, he was highly praised by the participants. The purpose of writing Exploring Middle School IT Teaching is to help middle school teachers and students in normal universities better learn the basic knowledge of middle school IT teaching, improve their information literacy and teaching skills, and to promote the faster integration of IT technology into middle schools, classrooms, and teaching activities.
