This book was planned and organized by Xia Tiehua and Zhou Jie, excellent teachers from the Commercial Press Education Publishing Department and Beijing New Oriental School. The contributors to the book are all English teachers with years of experience in foreign language teaching and research. Before writing this book, we teachers engaged in in-depth discussions and research on the PETS exam syllabus to fully understand its spirit and ensure that the writing style and content fully reflect the syllabus requirements. At the same time, we have also taken note of the fact that most candidates for the PETS exam rely on self-study for preparation. In the writing process, we have strived to make every exercise in the textbook highly operational.
In summary, we sincerely hope that candidates will improve their comprehensive foreign language abilities and successfully pass the PETS exam through the use of this textbook. We thank the National Education Examination Center for timely introducing the scientific PETS exam. It has clarified the direction of teaching and research for us, who are engaged in foreign language teaching and research, and has enabled us to contribute our part to the reform of foreign language education and the cause of international exchanges in China.
