Features: Russian romance songs have produced numerous masterpieces since their inception, each with a unique style, shining brilliantly in the world of songs and emitting a rich fragrance. Russian romance songs evolved from urban folk songs in Russia. In the mid-19th century, composers such as Arapiev, Varlamov, and Guliayev emerged as "masters of romance." Subsequently, the founders of the Russian national school, Glinka, and his followers, Dargomysky, greatly enriched the themes and expressiveness of romance songs. Later, composers of the "Mighty Handful," such as Balakirev, Mussorgsky, and Rimsky-Korsakov, continued to expand the horizons of Russian romance songs, giving them a new identity. Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninoff then brought the creation of Russian romance songs to its peak. Outstanding poets such as Pushkin, Lermontov,, Чютчев, and A. K. Tolstoy provided a wealth of excellent lyrics for Russian romance songs. This book selects 52 representative romance songs by 20 Russian composers, presenting a systematic and comprehensive collection of Russian romance songs to date. Each piece includes the original Russian text, accompanied by Chinese translation and arrangement. Italian tempo and expression marks in the scores are retained without Chinese translations. This book serves as a valuable reference for singers, students and faculty of art academies, as well as experts in the study of musical works.
