Features:
1. To facilitate the understanding of the characteristics of various herbicides and guide their rational use, the herbicide varieties are classified based on a combination of their chemical structures and target sites. Specifically, 116 varieties are categorized into 21 chemical structure types, and those with the same target sites are arranged consecutively. Additionally, 130 herbicide mixtures are grouped into five major categories based on the predominant chemical structure types.
2. Within the framework of herbicide classification, the book adopts a question-and-answer format, presenting technical content on herbicides and weed basics, herbicide application techniques, and common herbicide usage methods in 451 independent entries. The herbicides available for various agricultural chemical weed control are compiled in Appendix 2 for easy reference.
3. The names of herbicide varieties are based on the Chinese generic names in the National Standard GB4839-1998 "Generic Names of Pesticides." For those without established generic names, commonly used domestic names are selected. When a variety is first mentioned in the book, its English generic name is provided in parentheses. Other names of each variety are listed in a Pinyin index in Appendix 1. The names of herbicide mixtures follow the names registered in China's pesticide approval announcements.
4. The measurement units adopted are the legal units of the People's Republic of China, and land area is expressed as 667 square meters instead of the widely used "mu" among farmers.
5. To align production, sales, and use, the manufacturers of original herbicides for domestic herbicide varieties are provided, and the manufacturers of herbicide mixtures are generally listed. Due to the rapid transformation in China's pesticide production industry, some manufacturers may undergo restructuring or name changes, product adjustments, or closures or shifts in production after the book's publication. Readers are advised to stay updated on these developments for business purposes.
6. China has seen rapid development in new herbicide varieties, formulations, and usage technologies. However, due to insufficient information available to the author, some of these advancements are not covered in the book.
