Features: Food (FOOD) is the material basis for the survival of organisms. Without food, no organism can reproduce, and fish, shrimp, crabs, and shellfish are no exception. The authors have dedicated their lives to the study of food in natural ecology and experimental ecology. Currently, they have combined years of research results and practical experience with insights from domestic and international literature to compile this book. The book consists of 8 chapters, each with a general overview of research. Based on the principles of the biology of food species classification, morphology, reproduction, development, and feeding growth, and guided by ecological factors, it covers both specific characteristics and commonalities. To maintain the systematicity and completeness of the book, some repetition of terminology and methods may occur between chapters and sections. Based on experimental research, the book presents new insights on previously inadequate fundamental theories for discussion and provides applicable techniques for traditional methods for reference. With a broad foundation in basic knowledge and effective, feasible methods, this book can be used to guide production and also serves as a reference for faculty and students in biology and aquaculture departments of universities and colleges.
